Tafakkur: Journal of Islamic Thought and Civilization upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the use of others’ ideas, words, data, or intellectual contributions without proper acknowledgment, as well as self-plagiarism, redundant or duplicate publication, and inappropriate citation practices.
All manuscripts submitted to Tafakkur will be screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. The journal applies a maximum similarity index threshold of 20%, excluding references, properly cited quotations, and commonly used academic phrases. However, editorial decisions are not based solely on similarity scores; the context, nature, and extent of overlap are carefully evaluated to ensure a fair and accurate assessment.
Manuscripts identified as containing significant plagiarism will be immediately rejected at any stage of the editorial process. In cases where plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be formally retracted, and appropriate corrective actions will be taken in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines.
Authors bear full responsibility for ensuring the originality of their work and for appropriately citing all sources used in their manuscripts. The journal adheres to the principles and standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics to maintain the quality, credibility, and integrity of scholarly communication.
